Chandigarh is known to be one of the most well planned cities in the country, and all its prime locations like Sector 5, 7, 8 and regions around Madhya Marg have already been occupied, taking property prices way beyond the reach of common man. In fact most new settlers are now preferring to purchase flats in the lesser known areas of Chandigarh, and even moving to the outskirts for affordable property.
While upper middle class families can still afford to purchase 3BHK flats in Chandigarh, the lower middle class families find it hard to get the right space and at the required price. Given these trends many real estate projects are being planned in the nearby cities and towns like Panchkula, Mohali, Dera Bassi, and Zirakpur. Their proximity to Chandigarh and relatively lower operating costs are lucrative to people who want to work in Chandigarh and yet have an affordable accommodation nearby.
Next in line after Chandigarh, it is becoming exceedingly difficult to find accommodations even in Zirakpur. The city is located on the main Chandigarh-Ambala Highway and is only 13 km from Chandigarh. Not only residential accommodations, but commercial accommodations too are becoming more expensive with every passing day. The real estate market here is growing at 10-20% every six months, is response to the demand.
So, before these regions become even more expensive to support a living, timely investment is advisable. There are plenty of options available, especially when it comes to buying flats in Zirakpur or flats in Chandigarh.
